30.0 ECTS creditsThe course is offered in the form of a supervised project, in which a question related to current research at the university is treated. The work should include experiments or the collection of emirical data. Instruction is in the form of supervision, individually or in groups of students, or a combination. Students draw up a project plan consisting of research questions, methods and a time plan. The results of the project are compiled in an individually written report in Swedish or English. The report must have a title and abstract in Swedish and English. The report must meet the standard requirements of research ethics and include discussions on:
- the relation of the research question and results to existing knowledge and current research in the area. The background to the problem and yielded results as well as their relation to current research should meet the normal requirements for publication in a scientific journal in tems of scope and quality.
-possible applications of the results or of other research results related to the research question, and desirable or undesirable consequences of these.
The project should have a popular science summary in Swedish and English.
The project is presented and discussed at a seminar.

Admission requirements
Bachelor thesis in Chemistry 15 ECTS cr. and attended courses of 30 ECTS cr at Master level, including at least 15 ECTS cr Chemistry, of which 7.5 ECTS cr must be completed. Individual assessment of eligibility can be made.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
