Introduction to Gender Studies II: (In)equality, Welfare and Globalisation
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course introduces basic concepts and theories in the research fields of feminist and gender studies, with a focus on gendered power relations and the interplay of the sex/gender intersection and other dimensions of power such as class, ethnicity, sexuality, age, and religion.
Different ways of organising society in different countries are treated, including the consequences for the living conditions and situations of different persons over time. Gender issues, norms, and intersectional power dynamics are discussed from a global perspective, for instance in relation to violence and war.
