Transgender Studies and Activism
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course Transgender Studies and Activism provides an introduction to the emerging field of transgender studies, its embeddedness in social justice activism andits relation to the field of Gender Studies. Trans Studies is a complex field and the course will discuss feminist and queer approaches to transgender embodiment, contextualise it in the context of globalisation and local practices of gender non-conformity outside the Western world, as well as explore key figures who have contributed to the formation of this field. The language of instruction is English. The course is taught as a distance course online.
