The course is a basic course in string theory providing relevant knowledge and calculational skills to start research in the area of string theory. It starts with an introduction to string theory and continues with more advanced topics including conformal field theory, the Polyakov path integral, scattering amplitudes, different types of super strings and D-branes.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
