Classical Field Theory
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course starts with a thorough treatment of the phase space formulation of classical dynamical systems. It then continues with a description of how systems with first and second class constraints are analyzed using both Dirac's method and the BRST method. Important applications such as the Maxwell theory of electromagnetism, Yang-Mills theories and Einstein's theory of gravity are included, together with the geometrical description of these theories.
