Healthy living habits
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course deals with lifestyle habits that affect public health, such as physical activity, alcohol and tobacco, diet, sleep, and stress. The course content is based on the national public health objectives, the recommendations of the Public Health Agency, and the national guidelines for lifestyle habits issued by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. The course outlines the connection between lifestyle habits and other determinants for health such as structural factors, living conditions, the social environment, and the heredity and capabilities of individuals. The influence of social determinants on people's chances to improve their health through healthy lifestyle habits is discussed. The course also briefly covers theories and models of modern public health work. The course is based on a health-promoting and inclusive approach focused on a more equal health.
