Child health from a public health perspective

Instruction is in the form of lectures, seminars, and group exercises and based on participatory pedagogy requiring activity, commitment, and responsibility on the part of teachers and students alike. All participants in this type of pedagogy function as resources for the group.

The course is focused on a child perspective and a children's right perspective based on the UN child convention. It attempts to explain children's health and development in terms of how the human legacy interacts with physical, psychological, and social determining factors.

- Children's health from a theoretical social science perspective
- Health inequality
- Determining factors of health/public health objectives
- Children's perspective/the child convention/children's rights

Progressive specialisation: A1N (has only first‐cycle course/s as entry requirements)

Education level: Master's level

Admission requirements: General requirements for admission to Master's level. Completed university courses, at least 60 ECTS credits, and upper secondary school Swedish B/Swedish as a Second Language B plus English A, or the equivalent.

Selection:

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
