Scientific Methods in Business Administration
15.0 ECTS creditsThe philosophy of science is introduced as are the basic steps of the research process. The students develop skills in applying research methodology. Topics treated are, for example, critical thinking, the use of models and concepts, collecting information, and the writing process. The course further deals with established research methods regarding qualitative and quantitative approaches along with practical applications. Special consideration is given to processing and analysing quantitative data with the help of existing theories and theory formation based on empirical data. Current research in economics is used as examples throughout the course. The common theoretical and practical frame acquired prepares students for further studies and for the Bachelor thesis.
