Pharmacokinetics and Metabolism

-the fate of drugs in the organism such as absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination as well as influencing factors
-pharmacokinetic parameters such as half-life, clearance, distribution volume and bioavailability, and their impact on the intensity and duration of drug effects
-basic mathematical models and quantitative descriptions of how the accessibility of drug substance depends on absorption, distribution and elimination
-drug metabolising organs and enzyme systems
-drug dosage
-individual variation
-drugs and the elderly
-drug interaction
-drug toxicology
Instruction is in the form of lectures, seminars, exercises and laboratory work. Active participation in all seminars and laboratory activities is mandatory.
