Theories and methods in language research

The course outlines and compares theories and methods used in language research. Students develop an awareness of different theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches, including their suitability for different research contexts. Different kinds of linguistic data and their role in language research are examined, and ethical and legal issues related to how data is collected, stored, presented, and analysed are discussed. The course prepares students for further in-depth study at the advanced level.

Education level: Master's level

Admission requirements: 1-90 ECTS credits in English, including at least 30 ECTS credits at the G2F level or higher, or equivalent

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
