Language and Thought
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course covers current debates concerning the relationship between language and thought. Conflicting theories, phylogenetic and ontogenetic aspects of language and thought, and seminal case studies on linguistic relativity are discussed and evaluated. The course also covers the effect of second language learning and multilingualism on the thinking and thought of individuals. Research methods used in the field are contrasted and evaluated throughout the course.

Admission requirements:
90 ECTS credits, including at least 30 ECTS credits at the G2F level in one of the main fields of study English, Swedish Language, Linguistics, Psychology, Philosophy, or Anthropology, and English 6 or B, or equivalent.
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
