Women writers' science fiction and fantasy
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course treats English-language science fiction and fantasy by women writers, with a focus on negotiations of these genres and contemporary societal phenomena. In relation to their study of a number of novels, students discuss and analyse aspects of race, gender, class, sexuality, culture, and history, as well as genre-specific traits.
Instruction is in the form of independent reading of novels and articles, seminar discussions and oral presentations, and written analyses.

90 ECTS credits, including at least 30 ECTS credits at the G2F level, in one of the main fields of study English, Comparative Literature, or Film Studies, and upper secondary level English 6 or B, or equivalent

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
