- I participated in a doctoral course on decision making at Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective.
Interesting, can you tell us more about the course?
- In the course we studied how to create and test models on how we think when we make decisions. Another part of the course was about eye-tracking, a technology that can be used to study the process leading up to a purchase decision. We learned how to design a good eye-tracking experiment. The course also dealt with ethical and unethical decision making, when and how it is easier to make decisions for your own benefit. Another theme, which goes hand in hand with this, is how to make research more transparent. We had, among other things, workshops on ethical aspects of publication, research fraud and the importance of replicating previous studies. The final topic at the course discussed social decision-making, what it is that make people more or less likely to cooperate.

Will you benefit from this course in your future Ph. D studies?
- Absolutely, the course had a good connection to my research and ongoing studies. I’ve also made a lot of new contacts with other Ph. D students from the Netherlands, Switzerland and Israel, which hopefully can lead to future research collaborations.
