Maria Karlsson, Bright Materia

Maria Karlsson is the Founder and CEO of Bright Materia, a Swedish deep-tech startup developing high-purity lignin for biobased materials. With a PhD in fiber-and polymer technology from KTH and several years of research, she has extensive experience in lignin chemistry and biomass valorization.

She has led the company from lab-scale validation to customer testing and is currently driving the scale-up phase through contract manufacturing and strategic partnerships. Maria has received multiple innovation awards for her work in sustainable materials.

What would you like to contribute to the conference?

– Even the most promising deep-tech innovation will fail without ruthless focus on price,volume and customer.
