Johan Gising, AB Karl Hedin Bio Innovation

Johan Gising is CEO of AB Karl Hedin Bio Innovation; a startup focused on developing advanced and sustainable bio-based materials from sawmill side streams. He holds a PhD in medicinal chemistry and has more than 15 years of experience in early-stage drug development, with expertise in optimizing and modifying chemical structure and function. At AB Karl Hedin Bio Innovation, Johan leads efforts to tailor the properties of biopolymers to specific applications. Using a one-step process, the company produces tailored lignin for applications in areas such as the battery industry, conductive carbon, composites, coatings, water purification and colloidal lignin nanoparticles.
