Gunnar Henriksson, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)
Gunnar Henriksson is Professor of Wood Chemistry at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. He also holds positions at Karlstad University and the South China University of Technology. His work spans both fundamental and applied aspects of chemistry and biology, with particular relevance to forest-based industries. A long-standing focus of his research is lignin chemistry and its behavior in technical processes. Henriksson has been active in chemical research since the late 1980s and has authored over 200 scientific publications, as well as several book chapters. He is also an inventor on multiple patents and has co-founded several companies based on his research.
What would you like to contribute to the conference?
– I hope that both industry and researchers will explore the potential of oxlignin for a range of applications. Ultimately, it could become a commercially viable product from kraft mills, in a way analogous to the production of tall oil, says Gunnar Henriksson.
