Activity Calendar Autumn 2026
Student health, study and career guidance, the International Office, External Relation Officers and the library at Karlstad University together with the University Church, arrange many activities to help you through your studies. Here you can see which activities that are current in autumn 2026. Please note that pre-registration is required for some.

STUDENT HEALTH’S LECTURE SERIES “30 MINUTES FOR YOUR WELL-BEING”
Stressed? Lost your motivation? Or just really tired? We’re hosting a series of three short lectures packed with practical tips to help you make the most of student life. Just 30 minutes on Thursdays that can make your study routine feel a little easier.
On Thursdays, you’re invited to a range of lectures on topics such as balancing student life and mental health.
You can:
- join completely anonymously – no name, microphone or camera
- watch from wherever you are – at home, on campus, or in bed
- eat your lunch at the same time
The lectures are held online via Zoom between 12:15 and 12:45. After each session, there’s an opportunity to ask questions to the lecturer. To join, you need to sign up in advance to receive the Zoom link for each lecture.

- 15/10 How to no procrastinate
If you often wait until the last minute to start studying, you´re not alone. In this session, you´ll discover why procrastination happens and learn easy techniques to build better study habits and finish your work on time.
- 12/11 Surviving (and enjoying) the Swedish Winter
The swedish winter can be wonderful, but some struggle with the cold, the darkness and having less energy than normal. Find out what you can do to be prepared and set yourself up for surviving and even thriving through the cold season!

OUTDOOR SPIRIT
Meeting in and with nature! For those who want to discover new natural areas around Karlstad, cook outdoors and talk about life together with new and old friends.

OUTDOOR DAY
Take a well-deserved break from your studies and join us for a short hike of approximately 5 km. Around lunchtime, we will light a campfire and grill sausages (or other food of your choice). No previous experience is required, but registration via the link below is necessary.

ACTIVITIES (DROP IN SESSIONS)
GET THROUGH YOUR THESIS – TOGETHER WITH OTHERS
Are you working on your thesis and feeling alone in the writing process? You're not alone—and you don't have to be.
The Thesis Study Group gives you the opportunity to work on your thesis in a focused, calm, and supportive environment together with other students.
During the sessions, you will:
- work on your own thesis
- gain structure and motivation for your writing
- receive support from special education professionals and academic writing tutors
The group is led by Marie and Öyvind from the Student Health Service. Writing tutors from the library are also available to provide support.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUPPORT
Writing tutors answer short questions about your text and in-text citations. They can also tell you about how the library’s writing centre can help you with your academic English during term.

MEDITATION
Stillness and calm are often in short supply. Here, you are given the opportunity to quiet your mind through a guided silence. We sit together in silence for 20 minutes, from 12:30 PM to 12:50 PM, allowing you to return to your studies or work in good time afterward. You may sit on meditation cushions or on chairs.
