Frequently asked questions during your studies
At Karlstad University, we want to give you as a student the best possible service and support, both before and during your studies. Here we have collected answers to some common questions about studies and career guidance. If you cannot find the answer to your question, you can contact the study and career guidance at Karlstad University.
1. Registration and re-registration
How do I register for a course?
When does registration open?
Registration opens one week before the course starts.
I want to retake a course, how do I do it?
If you have taken a course previously but have not completed it, you may be re-registered for the course. You may participate in teaching and other course components subject to space availability. Please note that you are not eligible for student funding for partial credits in a course that you have already completed. Contact CSN for more information. Contact the faculty administrator during the regular registration period (often the week before the course starts) for possible re-registration and to gain access to web-based course material.
For the on-campus written examination, no re-registration is required, only registration.
2. Study breaks and interruptions from a course or program
You can find answers to your questions about study breaks and non completions and study leave on the non completions and study leave page.
3. Study guidance
