Important documents to bring
You might need to bring some extra documentation depending on your situation:
- Printable pdf-file of notification of selection results from universityadmissions.se Your notification will not be stored indefinitely at universityadmissions.se so it is important that you download a copy as you will have to show it in your contact with the Swedish Migration Board or the Swedish Tax Agency.
- A passport valid for at least the duration of your studies. You cannot obtain a residence permit for longer than your passport's period of validity. You also need a valid passport to apply for a Swedish Personal Number.
- If you are admitted to a Master’s degree: Certified copies of your diploma/degree certificate and transcripts in both original language and translation if applicable. You need to enclose these when you apply for a master’s degree certificate after you have completed your master’s programme. You do not have to show them at registration.
- If you are coming to Sweden with your spouse and/or children:
Marriage and/or birth certificate of your children.
- Printed copies of bank statements and original tax returns
Sweden has strict money laundering laws. If you want to transfer large amounts of money from your home country to your Swedish bank account, please make sure you bring bank statements and/or original tax returns, proofing the origins of your funds.
