Bringing medicine to Sweden
You may bring medicines into Sweden if they are intended for medical purposes and for your personal use. You must be able to prove that they are for personal use by presenting a prescription, a pharmacy label or a doctor’s certificate. However, you may not bring unlimited amounts of non-narcotic medicine.
- If you come from an EES country, you may bring a maximum of one year’s consumption.
- If you come from a country outside the EES, you may bring a maximum of three months’ consumption.
If you are planning to stay in Sweden for a longer period and need to bring more medicine than is allowed, you may apply for an exemption.
You may only bring medicines classified as narcotics or doping agents to Sweden for medical purposes and for personal use.
You must be able to prove the medical purpose and that the medicine is for personal use with a medical certificate called a Schengen Certificate.
