E-MigrAgeing project
Migration • Ageing • Digital Technologies in the Nordics and Japan
The E-MigraAgeing project is a collaboration between researchers at Karlstad University (Sweden) and Toyo University (Japan). The project brings together social researchers and practitioners to compare experiences and technological knowledge across regions, aiming to develop solutions that support the sustainable ageing of older migrants and their everyday livelihoods.
About the Project
E-MigraAgeing investigates how digital technologies shape ageing experiences among migrant populations. By connecting Nordic and Japanese contexts, it highlights similarities and differences in policies, care systems, and everyday practices among older migrants, as well as their interactions with ageing native populations. The project also examines whether digitalized welfare services promote social inclusion or reinforce inequalities, offering a nuanced view of their impact on ageing trajectories.
