CoSIE, Co-creation of Service Innovation in Europe is a three-year research and development project with a total of 24 participants in 10 European countries. The aim is to study the extent to which social services involve the users themselves in the development of their services. Karlstad University participates with a pilot study which is carried out with Jönköping municipality's social administration as the study object.
The purpose of the Swedish pilot study in CoSIE is to explore the conditions under which the involvement of users or citizens in the development of social services is made possible and what effects it has on efforts at the individual level and business development.
The scientific question in the project concerns how public activities develop services with the help of co-creation together with users.
Since the project is financed by the EU, there is also a more applied purpose. That purpose is to develop new knowledge about how public services can be developed by prioritizing knowledge and needs that are addressed by users. The purpose is motivated by the fact that there are special user groups whose voices are rarely heard, and it is precisely these groups that the project targets.
