Programme in oral health
Working as a licensed dental hygienist means that you help people of all ages to maintain good oral health. It is a profession that requires you to work independently and take responsibility, as well as working together with other professional groups within dental care, health care and elderly care.
The subject of oral health has a multidisciplinary focus and forms a whole with knowledge from the natural sciences, mainly dentistry and medicine, as well as social and behavioural sciences, creating the foundation of the independent professional practice of a dental hygienist.
The programme consists of three years of full-time studies (180 ECTS credits) and includes both theoretical and practical course work. It is a modified campus-based programme where digital teaching and examination are mixed with clinical training on campus as well as placements in different parts of the country.
