New PhD student in Psychology
2017-09-22Sture Nöjd is a new PhD student in Psyhology at CTF. His research will focus on the development of digital tools and services based on the needs and possibilities that customers, patients, and citizens are experiencing, or could expect to experience in the future.
Sture is a certified psychologist and graduated from Umeå Unviersity in 2000. Since then he has worked in various positions related to psychology until 2010 when he was employed at Karlstad University.
– I have previously practiced adult psychiatry, and worked in dental care with the treatment of dental fear. I have also worked at the Swedish Defence Recruitment Agency (formerly the National Service Administration) with recruiting issues and at the National Swedish Employment Service with investigation, support and guidance for people looking for employment, says Sture and continues:
– I have been working at Karlstad University for seven years, except for one year when I was employed and worked as an organizational consultant in the occupational health care sector, and in recent years has been involved in the fairly new Psychology Program at Karlstad University. During this time, my interest for research has grown stronger. In 2013, I collaborated with Associate Professor Mats Höglund on an article on professional communication with the Swedish Tax agency. When the article was published in 2014 I felt encouraged to do more research. I was very pleased when a PhD student position at CTF that suits my areas of interest was announced and, of course, I became even more pleased when I got the position. After a few weeks on the new job, I feel very welcome and I am looking forward to nice collaboration, focused research studies and nice coffee breaks, says Sture.
