A new initiative will renew and strengthen Swedish industry
2015-03-18A new research and innovation project is focusing on manufacturing companies to strengthen their competitiveness and increase their profitability by moving from goods to service production. The initiative known as ATIT is headed by Swerea IVF in collaboration with CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University and Linköping University.
The aim for the project ATIT, Advanced service in manufacturing industry, is to create a scalable model that can be used for servitization in small and medium-sized manufacturing companies on a wide level.
- We will develop a model and approach for the development and delivery of customized and industrial services. The work will be carried out together with a number of smaller local manufacturing companies in Värmland. We will test the new approach in the pilot companies’ operations and help them create the conditions needed to deliver comprehensive offerings, says researcher Lars Witell who together with his colleague Nina Löfberg represents CTF in the project.
ATIT is part of the Production2030 Strategic Innovation Programme which is funded by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas. As a part of the programme the project will contribute to competitive and sustainable swedish production, as well as strenghten the cooperation between business academia, and research institutet.
