1st Workshop on Service Innovation Research

About 30 researchers from Europe and the United States gathered to present and to discuss research. Keynote speaker was Tor. W Andreassen, Professor at the Norwegian School of Economics, Bob Lusch, Professor at University of Arizona, and Bo Edvardsson.
The initiators of the workshop are Professors Bo Edvardsson and Lars Witell, CTF, Karlstad University and Maria Colurcio, University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro. 
- The purpose is to create an international forum for the development and exchange of knowledge in Service Innovation. We want to foster collaboration between researchers from different disciplines and initiate joint projects, publications and research applications, says Bo Edvardsson, Professor at CTF and Assistant Vice Chancellor at Karlstad University.
Some comments from the workshop
- Many of the participants told us they feel Service Innovation is in demand in both academia and industry and also among public stakeholders. The relaxed atmosphere at the workshop invited into many discussions and opportunities for interaction which the participants were very pleased with, says Per Kristensson, Professor at CTF.
- The 1st Workshop on Service Innovation Research is history. The format with a limited number of participants from different research groups was perfect. In the early stages of a research phenomenon, it is important to develop ideas with others in a smaller format and to build social relationships as a basis to develop ideas for scholarly articles. The workshop delivered on all counts, says Tor W. Andreassen, Professor at the Norwegian School of Economics.
- I am very satisfied with the workshop. Some of the presentations will be published next year in a special issue of the scientific journal, Journal of Service Management. A great tribute to our partners at University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro, they were fantastic hosts. I am looking forward to the next workshop in two years, say Bo Edvardsson.
