Besides publication of scientific results in various journals we also publish our research in other formats, to situate it in a wider context or to reach a wider target group. On this page you will find a compilation of books and book chapters by CSR's scientists.
Residential fire safety - an interdisciplinary approach
In this antology, based on that the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, MSB, between 2013 and 2018 funded a substantial research effort in the field of residential fires that was coordinated by Brandforsk, the authors approach is multi-disciplinary and combines methods from publich health, engineering approaches in the fire safety field, medicin and policy science.
The book provides a thorough overview over fatalities and injuries from redidential fires and the current knowledge of evidence-based methods to redcue the problem. The book also provides detailed descriptions of different risk-groups and effective measures both on the geeral level and aimed at specifik risk-groups. Furthermore the book includes work processes targeted at facilitating risk reduction.

Local Action on Climate Change
Local Action on Climate Change examines how local climate change responses are emerging, being operationalized and evaluated within a range of geographical and socio-political contexts across the globe. Focussing on the role and potential of local governments, non-government organisations and community groups in driving transformative change, the authors analyse how local climate change responses have emerged and explore the extent to which they are or have the potential to be innovative or transformative in terms of governance, policy and practice change.
The book is in English and CSR's Mikael Granberg is co-editor of the book. CSR's scientists are co-authors of four of the books chapters:

Katstrofriskreducering – perspektiv, praktik, potential
[Disaster Risk Reduction, perspectives, practices and potential] Why do people settle in places at risk? How do people behave in disaster situations and what role plays religious beliefs, households and sustenance for recovery? Do we learn from our experiences from crises and what role plays motivation and collective memory for such learning? Is capacity development, multi-sectorial collaboration and training a sustainable road towards reduced disaster risk? These are a few of the many questions answered by the authors in this book.
The book is written in Swedish and CSR:s researchers are authors for two of the books chapters:
