CSR's first board meeting
On Wednesday the 26 August the first board meeting of the Centre for Societal Risk Research, CSR, was held digitally.
Since this was the first board meeting of the Centre for Societal Risk Research focus was to a large degree placed on getting to know each other and to talk about expectations on the boards work as well as activities of the newly formed research centre. How should we profile the new centre and shape its identity, internally and externally?
It was a very good and rewarding meeting for all participants, says Emelie Hindersson, centre coordinator for CSR. Everyone shared ideas and constructive points of view regarding the road forward. We agreed that the board should operate as an advisory organ to the centre and that we want to keep a continuous and constructive dialogue between centre and board and that the board are invited to take part in current centre discussions.
At the side of activities of the centre a large part of discussions revolved around the ongoing Corona-crisis. The focus of CSR is on a large width of societal risks but the ongoing crisis naturally also affects our activities and our research in many ways. From a societal risk perspective, what are the issues brought to light by a crisis such as the current one, what vulnerabilities in society become apparent and what happens with society post Corona.
Next board meeting
The next board meeting is preliminarily planned to November.
