New students
Being a new student in Sweden can be like entering a new world, but we will do what we can to make you feel at home in Karlstad and at the university. The following pages contain important information to help you get off to a good start at Karlstad University.
When arriving as an international student you will be welcomed by our student coordinators who will inform you about your studies at Karlstad University and living in Karlstad. You will receive the same service as any other student at the university, regardless if you are a paying free mover, exchange student or a non-paying free mover from the EU/EEA or Switzerland.
During your first weeks as a student, it is a lot of practical things that need to be arranged. On the following pages you can learn more about how to register for your courses, activate your student account, apply for library and access cards, and buy or borrow literature.
