Community dance

Community dance involves the art of dancing, participation and social sustainability through interacting with a local place and local people. In Community Dance the amateurs are experts on their own story and by collaborating with a professional artist they are supported in narrating and communicating it.

In this way Community Dance can function as a tool for social, human as well as artistic development. Community Dance involves embodied understanding. The course is offered in English and starts with an on-campus workshop in Community Dance. Students carry out their own Community Dance project anywhere in the world with feedback provided. The course is concluded with a written report on the project.
