Science skills to go: Abstracts - The whole story
Abstracts: The whole story
The abstract of a research article is intended to provide other researchers with an overview. Yet to tell the whole story of a scientific study in just a paragraph, the writer-researcher has to know the story’s essential elements. Based on a blog-post by Canadian academic Steve Easterbrook, this workshop looks at abstracts in terms of a six-part narrative structure.
This session is part of the series Science skills to go which aims to provide useful tips and tricks about information retrieval, publication issues, copyright, and academic reading and writing, without taking too much time from your research.
