Meet Ebrahim Gozali, new postdoctoral researcher at Pro2BE, who will take about Advanced coatings of packaging materials.

Globally, there is today a major problem with food loss in the chain from producer to consumer. Well-functioning packaging solutions are required for a sustainable society.

More specifically, the research project is addressed to barrier coating of paper and paperboard with focus on dispersions and polymer solutions based on renewable raw materials. Through advanced barrier coating, efficient and resource-efficient packaging solutions for a sustainable society can be created.
Important parts of the experimental work will be performed in close cooperation with the paper coating pilot plant in Säffle operated by UMV Coating Systems AB.

Dr. Ebrahim Gozalis joined Karlstad University January 2018. His PhD is in Mechanical Engineering, from University of Liverpool, UK, from 2016, addressed to numerical modeling of high velocity suspension flame spray processes.
