My main research interests focus on software architecture and design, software evolution, and software quality. More specifically, I currently work on methods and tools helping software engineers mitigate software architecture erosion and technical debt. I am in particular interested in evaluating these and other approaches empirically in collaboration with industry.
I received my diploma degree (Master's equivalent) in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University of Technology, Germany, in 2005. In 2011, I obtained my PhD in Computer Science with focus on Software Engineering from Clausthal University of Technology, Germany, where I continued working as postdoctoral research assistant. In early 2013, I started working as research fellow for Lero - The Irish Software Research Centre in Limerick, Ireland. In 2015, I joined Karlstad university.
