My research area is mainly in Quality of care and Patient safety within Reproductive Health, nationally and internationally. My research focuses on implementation of evidence based care and on women´s, partners and health personnel´s perception of care. I have contributed to the development of the questionaire Quality from the Patients´Perspective - Intrapartal care (QUP-I) and QUP-IVF (care in connection with in-vitro fertilizing). My ongoing research includes the prevalence and perceptions of iatrogenic harm and injury from the womens perspective in the context of childbirth care. Further, I am examining women´s experience of childbirth care in the latent phase of labour, psychometric testing of the instrument ¨Early Labour Experience Questionaire (ELEQ), and further development of the instrument QUP-I, personnels perception of invitro-fertilizing and midwife students´perception of normal birt during their clinical practice. Some of the research is carried out in cooperation with Sahlgrenska University hospital and the University of Borås.
I´m a registred nurse and a registred midwife, specialized in obstetric ultrasound. In my clinical work I have worked as a midwife in childbirth care and obstetric ultrasound. In 2006 I defended my thesis WHO`s recommendation for care in normal birth: Development of an instrument, midwives´documented care and women´s perceptions. After my dissertation I have worked as a senior lecture and associate professor at Karlstads university, the University of Falun and Borås.
