Business Benefits of IT Systems
3 ECTS credits
The aim of the course is that students develop their skills in producing a basis for assessing an IT system in terms of profitability and business benefits in different perspectives, and skills in presenting the conditions and consequences of IT systems in relation to management control of a company/organisation. The course also has a focus on explaining the benefits of IT investments by using clear material linked to a company's strategy and vision. The course is based on a case study where the requirement is to clarify the economic consequences of procuring an IT system. The case study is presented and defended at a seminar.
Progressive specialisation: G1F (has less than 60 credits in first‐cycle course/s as entry requirements)
Education level: Undergraduate level
Admission requirements: Admission to the IT design programme with an emphasis on Business systems and economy plus the course FEGA01 (Business Administration I) or equivalent
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
