WISEflow
WISEflow is one of the systems for digital examinations on Karlstads University.
As a student, you are responsible for preparing for writing a digital exam.
Prepare for the examination session
Register and read the Rules of examination
You always need to register for your hall examination in My Kau.
Prepare for a digital exam with your own computer
You need to have an active KauID and know your credentials, usernamne and password. Make sure you have installed at least one, or several, of the recommended web browsers; Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
To be able to take your exam in WISEflow, you need a web browser called FLOWlock / Lock Down Browser on your computer. You download and install this before your exam, follow the steps below.
- Log in to WISEflow in your usual browser (chose eduGAIN and search for Karlstad University)
- Click on your name in the right upper corner and Edit profile
- Click on the tab named System requirements
- Choose to download with the button to the right
- Open the downloaded file and follow the instructions for installation
If you have done a digital exam before it is important for you to check your FLOWlock/LockDown Browser if you have the latest version installed. Log in to WISEflow, click on your name at the upper right corner and select Edit profile. Under the System requirements tab you can test your browser and download the new version if necessary.
Network settings
Your computer must be connected to the university’s wi-fi network Eduroam, your setting should be on automatic reconnection and you need to forget old networks you may have been connected to, such as KAU-GUEST. This is important to prevent problems with your connection to WISEflow during your exam. If you need help with connecting to the network or have other technical problems, we recommend you to get help from Student support which is available at the Welcome centre.
Carefully read the information on how you handle loss of connection to WISEflow and which keyboard shortcuts to use if you delete your answers by mistake.
Demoflow
Do a Demoflow in WISEflow to see how it can look like when you enter the exam. Demoflows can be found at the bottom of your Flowoverview. At Karlstad University we use FLOWmulti.
