The course gives an introduction to various aspects of multilingualism among individuals and societies. This involves issues concerning linguistic variation and change, attitudes to language and language use as well as language policy. The prerequisites for second language development in different ages and how learning takes place and interacts with language development and school success are treated.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
