Bio
I grew up in Italy where I got my first university degree in linguistics at the Università degli Studi di Pavia and taught Italian to foreigners in a language school in Milan. I then moved to the US where I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. There I obtained my MA (2008) and my PhD (2013) in applied linguistics and completed the course work towards the Certificate of Advanced Study in Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education. After my graduate studies, I was a post-doctoral research fellow at Stockholm University (Sweden) and at Rice University (USA), where I was involved in an innovative professional development program for in-service university teachers. I moved back to Sweden in 2016, where I held a position as University Lecturer at the Department of English (Stockholm University). Since August 2019 I have been employed at Karlstad University as a Senior Lecturer in English.
