The course introduces Swedish as a second language, its distinctive qualities, and its structure with reference to the syllabus and national curricula. The course has a focus on the importance of linguistic interaction and presents various methods to stimulate the development of second language knowledge and skills. Formative assessment as a support for second-language learners is emphasised. Students also learn to analyse learners' interim language through performance analysis. Students develop their ability to critically review teaching aids and materials.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
