The course comprises twelve modules.
Module 1 Dance 1, 12 ECTS cr
- Technical dance training in some selected stage dance genres
- Alternative training methods linked to dance
- Reflections on the students' own bodies and their potentials in dancing
- Concepts, terminology and anatomy related to dance
Module 2: Artistic Project 1, 3.5 ECTS cr
- Scenic project
- Creating with a focus on scenic space and the community environment
Module 3: Dance Pedagogy for Children 1, 4.5 ECTS cr
- Introduction to the practice and theory of dance pedagogy with a focus on the building-blocks of dancing
- Observation of dance classes for preschool children in voluntary activities
- Introduction to music for children's dance
Module 4: Music 1, 3.5 ECTS cr
- Music history
- The rhythm and music of the body
- Music analysis with a focus on rhythm
Module 5: Dance History, 3.5 ECTS cr
- The history of selected dance genres
Module 6: Different Dance Traditions 1, 3 ECTS cr
- Dance training and a theoretical overview of various dance traditions and cultures
Module 7: Dance Training 2, 12 ECTS cr
- Advanced elements in technical dance training in the different dance genres
- Pilates training, among others, and basic anatomy
- The role of music in artistic dance
Module 8: Artistic Project 2, 3.5 ECTS cr
- Scenic work and Choreography with an emphasis on dynamics and expression
- Reflection on their own artistic development
Module 9: Dance Pedagogy for Children 2, 4.5 ECTS cr
- Further study in dance pedagogy in dance classes for preschool children in voluntary activities
- Core value issues in dance classes for preschool children in voluntary activities
- Introduction to choreography for children's dance
- Practical placement in dance classes for preschool children in voluntary activities

- Music analysis with an emphasis on structural listening
- Vocal training
- Music in the body
Module 11: Dance Theory: Scenic Perspective, 3.5 ECTS cr
- Scientific perspectives on dance, body and the human being
- Written reflection on issues of democracy and diversity in relation to dance
Module 12: Different Dance Traditions 2, 3 ECTS cr
- Democracy and diversity in relation to different dance traditions
- Boundary-crossing choreography on the basis of different traditions.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
