Experio seminars: Design in/and data-capitalism - datafication and resistance in digital welfare services
DESIGN IN/AND DATA-CAPITALISM - DATAFICATION AND RESISTANCE IN DIGITAL WELFARE SERVICES
Petter Falk, PhD Student in Political Scientist, CTF, Karlstad University
Experio Lab is inviting to the Experio Seminars. Once a month we’ll invite interesting researchers to talk about service design, service logic and user-driven services in public sector.
Silicon valley gave rise to the ideology and ontology through which we understand digitization. Now that the mystique and magic surrounding companies like Meta, Alphabet and Twitter are starting to wear off, a question arises: how can a data-logic that is not based on capitalism be articulated? And with what premises can welfare organizations form understandings rooted in democracy, solidarity and equality? Through a handful of examples from design-oriented research, Petter Falk will ramble about data as a democratic artefact, datafication and resistance.
The seminar will be held in english.
February 17th 08:30 – 09:45 on Zoom
The seminar is free of charge and open for everyone.
