ENIRDELM stands for European Network for Improving Research and Development in Educational Leadership and Management

History

ENIRDELM was created in 1991 following the opening up of the former Soviet bloc to the rest of Europe.

Members

ENIRDELM is both a horizontal (many nations) and vertical (multiple-roles and levels) network which brings together school leaders, educational administrators, trainers, researchers and consultants in the field of educational leadership and management. It was formerly named ENIRDEM but the "L" for Leadership was added following the 2006 annual conference. Its Board of seven people (balanced gender; 7 different countries) is renewed by one or two members annually and the Chairperson is the organiser of the next annual conference. ENIRDELM has an On-line Voluntary Permanent Secretariat.
Its members engage in organised networking (annual conference in September; web-site; joint research and development projects; publication of books, conference proceedings and a twice-yearly newsletter) and self-generated activities (materials exchange; study visits; visiting lectureships; invitation to give lectures and workshops; etc.) There is no membership fee. Members participate in an annual conference organised each year in a different country by the new Chairperson appointed at the Conference

Mission

"ENIRDELM seeks to improve the quality of educational leadership and management, development and research across the whole of Europe. It does so through the initiative and energy of its participants through mutually generated activities within and especially between Central, Eastern and Western Europe."

An aim of our network is to promote international collaboration in professional activities
The twice-yearly ENIRDELM Newsletter contains up-to-date information about existing and desired collaborations between members in professional projects and other international forms of mutual assistance. See the sections entitled "ENIRDELM Matters" and "ENIRDELM Members' Project Updates". Please send the Editor at any time, any requests for, or reports on, collaboration that you wish to have included in the Newsletter.
