FORENEW
FORENEW (Forum for forest industry renewal - process and product innovation) is a research forum that coordinates all the forest industry research at Karlstad University.
Both product and processes will be developed in projects where the university together with the industry will carry out research of the highest quality. This research will be based on the long tradition of innovative pulp, paper and wood technology created by the regional forest industry in Värmland since the end of the 19th century.
As a result of its activities in education at undergraduate, graduate and PhD-levels combined with the broad research activities, Karlstad University is a hub of competence and expertise in this national key area.
FORENEW has an extensive collaboration with industrial partners and strong networks such as: The Paper Province, Metso Paper, Stora Enso, Eka Chemicals, Borregaard, Nordic Paper, Korsnäs, SCA, TetraPak, SmurfitKappa, Linköping University, Chalmers, Broby Grafiska, The Packaging Arena, CTF - The Service Research Centre, Region Värmland, KTH - Royal Institute of Technology, Mid-Sweden University, Åbo Akademi University among others.
