Broad and cutting-edge education

Nearly 2 000 students study at Karlstad University Business School. They are enrolled in undergraduate or Master-level programmes and courses, or in postgraduate studies.

At present, seven undergraduate programmes are offered. They are all given in swedish and comprise of 180 ECTS credits, which means three years of study: Business and Economics; Real Estate Management; Mathematics, Business Administration and Economics; Jurisprudence towards business law or public law; Tourism; Human Resource Management and Work Organisation; and IT-Design with a focus on enterprise systems and economy. Students can then move on to ten one or two-year Master-level programmes. Most of the Master-level programmes are given in english.

For professional people we offer broadening as well as specialisation courses. There are many course offers and opportunities to study full-time, part-time or at an even slower pace.

More and more students choose to study one or more terms abroad, just as international students choose to come here. Exchange schemes give experience and friends for life, and not least job qualifications.

Since cooperation with external partners is highly valued here, we want to create many different meeting-places where our students and future employers can make contact. There are two practical placement periods in our programmes. The student and the workplace mentor draw up a plan together so that the tasks will correspond to the knowledge acquired at the university and can be applied in the daily work.

A great number of our teachers are PhDs, which means that they have completed postgraduate studies with a dissertation and been awarded a Doctor's degree. Parallel with their teaching duties, many engage in research in business administration, economics or other subjects.
