External relations

Cooperation – a natural feature of education and research

Cooperating with companies, authorities and organizations is a major task for Karlstad University. This cooperation is of mutual benefit and is part of the exchange knowledge and experience that enriches both education and research.

Cooperation may take the form of trainee teachers helping compulsory school pupils with their homework, or students in their degree projects putting forward proposals to improve the efficiency of companies or to develop new markets. Other forms of cooperation are contact courses tailor-made for improving competence in companies and organizations, or researchers, together with other actors, attempting to find answers to societal problems.

Through open dialogue Karlstad University also contributes to regional development and at the same time is the region’s link with the international academic community. We help to ensure that innovations are disseminated in the community and that research results become commercial successes.

Our goal is clear – to become one of the best universities in Europe with regard to external cooperation.
