Bachelor of Science in Enviromental and Energy Engineering (180 ECTS credits)
Employment Market
Future employers are often companies involved in district heating, industrial energy systems (for instance, paper and pulp producers), heating, ventilation, air conditioning and municipal water treatment. The employment market is broad and our former students have found jobs in many different areas. If you wish to work with environmental management, the combination of technical and environmental qualifications is highly appreciated on the labour market. As an engineer you have many choices. After a few years work experience you may target product development, or the development of different cleaning or energy systems. Engineers often have managing positions. The employment market is good at present. Normally our students have a qualified job within six months of graduation. In a global perspective water and energy issues are gaining importance and there are good job opportunities abroad. Our programme is highly regarded in the business and several companies are actively recruiting from the programme.
Degree
A Bachelor of Science in Energy and Environmental Engineering is awarded on completion of the programme. This degree will allow you to continue towards a Master of Science at Karlstad University or other universities in Europe. For examination and assessment regulations, see under the heading "Learning outcomes" in the programme study plan.
Further Studies
The education is part of the new flexible education structure in Europe. With your degree you can, provided that you have the necessary mandatory courses, continue your studies aiming for a masters degree in computer science, either at Karlstad University or at other universities in Europe. Studies at the advanced level make you eligible for doctoral studies.
