Master Programme in Mechanical Engineering with specialisation in Materials Engineering (120 ECTS credits)
With a master"s degree in mechanical engineering you have a broad field of job opportunities. It may be with larger industrial enterprises, consulting companies or in public service. The specialization in materials engineering will give you a particular knowledge on material aspects placed in the context of the engineering design process, and with a comprehensive view which supports collaboration with other competences. Advanced materials analysis and detailed material knowledge are required when making strategic choices of the right material for different situations in terms of properties and environmental effects as well as design and costs.
Education level: Master’s level
Prerequisites: A Bachelor of Science degree of 180 ECTS cr. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, including the following: Mathematics 30 ECTS cr., covering basic one and multivariable calculus, linear algebra and partial differential equations. Basic mechanical engineering of 90 ECTS cr., including materials, design and manufacturing engineering.
