Mathematics, Business Administration and Economics (180 ECTS credits)
Education
The following core courses are obligatory for all students on the programme: mathematics, statistics, economics and business administration. For a degree to be awarded, students need 30 ECTS credits in mathematics, 30 ECTS credits in statistics, and a specialisation in economics. Students will major in either economics or business administration. The minimum requirement for a Bachelor"s degree to be awarded is 90 ECTS credits in the major and 30 ECTS credits in the minor: for a Master"s degree, the requirement is 120 ECTS credits in the major and 30 ECTS credits in the minor. Students wishing to continue towards a Master"s degree have the opportunity to take one semester of elective courses, allowing them to specialise in mathematics, statistics or economics. We can also offer basic courses in, for instance, information systems, jurisprudence and legal theory, or languages. There is a great variety of courses on offer, most of them in business administration, addressing areas such as quality, output and accountancy. The specialisation Financial Economics is open to Economics majors as well as to Business Administration majors.
Form of Instruction
The form of instruction alternates between lectures, supervision, exercises and seminars.
Examination
The form of examination varies and may include oral or written examinations, or project work. There are no set examination periods, and generally no final exam at the end of a semester, an academic year, or a complete study programme. Examination usually takes place at the end of a course, module, or unit.
