Bioscience Programme: Pharmacy (180 ECTS credits)
Bioscience programmes at Karlstad University offer opportunities for flexible study. Students start off by studying the same courses and then choose one of three exciting main fields of study, one of which is pharmacy. Students who are interested in bioscience but uncertain about which field to specialise in can opt for the broad curricular base bioscience programme and defer their choice.
Are you interested in medicine and health? Pharmacists are experts in pharmaceutical products. They often work in pharmacies but also in the pharmaceutical industry or with inspection and control. Pharmacists frequently need to provide information to the public and health care institutions. They are responsible for dispensing the right dose and for making sure that the client knows how to administer the drug. Direct, or via phone, contact with customers, doctors and health care workers is a frequent part of the job and requires communication and cooperation skills.
