Summer course for Chinese students in Science and Technology (7.5 ECTS credits)
Main course components
1. English conversation and writing.
This part of the course will give training in English conversation and writing. The focus will be on everyday language skills, but some skills connected to a professional career e.g. how to write a job application in English and give an oral presentation, will be covered.
2. Swedish culture and language.
This part of the course will give an overview of Swedish culture, Swedish language and basic facts about Sweden. Cultural differences between China and Sweden, in general, and also specifically connected to Swedish businesses, will be discussed. The course will also give some elementary knowledge of the Swedish language.
3. Scientific computing.
This part of the course will focus on some mathematical tools and numerical methods for engineering problems, related to the project work below. The students will work with assignments involving both mathematical and numerical concepts and computer implementations.
4. Project work in Engineering.
This part of the course will be a project work in the engineering or science subject connected to the study program of the student. This project work will be based on the knowledge and skill of the student

- Admission requirements: One year of study in Science and Technology at a Chinese University.
- Selection: Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
